1. Satisfy (v) : /ˈsætɪsfaɪ/ :làm cho hài lòng
    Loại từ : satisfied (adj) : hài lòng, thỏa mãn.
                   satisfactory (adj): hài lòng, chấp nhận được
                   satisfaction (n) : sự hài lòng.
   Cách dùng thông dụng:
   be satisfied with sb/st : hài lòng với ai/cái gì.
   satisfy sb/st : thỏa mãn ai/cái gì.
   Ví dụ: 
    I was not satisfied with the information provided in the materials.
    The content of this book does not satisfy readers at all.
2. Persuade (v): /pərˈsweɪd/ : thuyết phục
   Loại từ : persuasive (adj) : có tính thuyết phục
                  persuasion (n) : sự thuyết phục
   Cách dùng thông dụng:
   persuade sb/yourself that ... : thuyết phục ai rằng ...
   persuade sb to do st : thuyết phục ai đó làm gì.
  Ví dụ:
   They persuaded us that we were wrong.
   He persuaded his friend to go back to school.
3. Market (v) :/ˈmɑːrkɪt/ : tiếp thị, quảng cáo
  Loại từ: marketable (adj) : có thể bán được
               marketing (n) : tiếp thị, marketing
               market (n) : thị trường
  Cách dùng thông dụng:
  market st (to sb) : quảng cáo cái gì đó (cho ai).
Ví dụ:
 When Omar first began marking his chutneys, he marketed them door to door to gourmet shops.
4. Inspire (v) :/ɪnˈspaɪər/: truyền cảm hứng
  Loại từ : inspirational (adj) : mang lại cảm hứng
                 inspiring (adj) : gây hứng thú,cảm hứng
                 inspiration (n) : nguồn cảm hứng
 Cách dùng thông dụng:
  inspire sb (with st) : truyền cảm hứng cho ai (bằng việc gì).
  inspire sb to do st : truyền cảm  hứng cho ai để thực hiện việc gì.
 Ví dụ:
  The teacher inspires her students with her enthusiasm.
  The peaceful surroundings of my hometown inspire me to write a novel.
5. Fad (n) :/fæd/: mốt
 Loại từ: faddy (adj) : thích thứ gì đó.
6. Current (adj) : /ˈkɜːrənt/: hiện tại
Loại từ: currently (adv) : hiện tại
7. Convince (v):: thuyết phục
Loại từ: convincing (adj) : mang tính thuyết phục
Cách dùng thông dụng:
   convince sb/yourself (of st) : thuyết phục ai đó tin vào (cái gì).
   convince sb/yourself that ...: thuyết phục ai rằng
   convince sb to do st : thuyết phục ai làm gì.
Ví dụ:
   They convinced us of their innocence.
   I managed to convince myself that I was doing the right things.
   The salesman convinced his customer to buy his entire inventory of pens.
8. Consume (v) :/kən'sju:m/: tiêu thụ
Loại từ: consumable (adj) : có thể tiêu thụ được
              consumer (n) : người tiêu dùng
Cách dùng thông dụng:
   consume st : tiêu thụ cái gì.
Ví dụ:
   The lights don't consume much electricity
9. Compare (v) :: so sánh
Loại từ: compareable (adj) : có thể so sánh được, tương tự
              conparison (n) : sự so sánh
Cách dùng thông dụng:
   compare to/with sb/st : tốt hơn ai/cái gì.
   compare A with/to B: so sánh A với B
Ví dụ:
  Sales were modest and cannot compare with the glory days of 1989.
  Students will compare their own culture with other culture around the world.
10. Compete (v) :/kəmˈpiːt/: cạnh tranh, ganh đua
Loại từ: competitive (adj) : (mang tính) cạnh tranh, ganh đua
              competitor (n) : đối thủ (cạnh tranh )
              competition (n) : sự cạnh tranh, cuộc thi đấu.
Cách dùng thông dụng:
  compete on st : cạnh tranh về mặt gì đó
  compete to do st : cạnh tranh để làm gì đó
  compete (with/against sb) (for st) : cạnh tranh với ai đó vì điều gì
Ví dụ:
  We can't compete with them on price.
   Many magazines are competing to attract readers.
   Several companies are competing with each other for the contract.
11. Attract (v):/ə'trækt/: thu hút, hấp dẫn, lôi cuốn
Loại từ: attractive (adj) : hấp dẫn, thu hút
              attraction (n) : sự thu hút
Cách dùng thông dụng:
  attract sb/st : thu hút ai/cái gì
  attract sb/st to do sb/st : thu hút ai/cái gì vào ai/cái gì
 Ví dụ:
This book is richly illustrated with pictures to attract children.
What first attracted me to her was her sense of humour .
